Access to Lounge
We have access to this lounge because we currently have the American Express Platinum card. The lounge is located in Terminal D (across from gate D17) of the Dallas Fort Worth airport. We visited this lounge during our Madrid trip in November 2016.
I wish I had taken more pictures of the lounge itself, but I was too busy enjoying all the amenities. You have to take a escalator or elevator to get up to the lounge. When you enter you are greeted by a member services representative. From the member services desk, you can turn right or left. To the right, there was a few seats, a large conference table, and the entrance to the spa (which I’ll talk more about later). Around the corner, you’ll also find a couple of shower suites and the restrooms.
If you turn to the left, there was seating all along a hallway, which lead to the dining area, bar, and additional seating. We opted to sit near the food since we hadn’t ate breakfast yet.
Food and Drinks
When we first arrived, the bar wasn’t open yet, but they had a nice selection of pastries, breads, and fruit. In addition to that, there was an egg dish and some grilled potatoes. There were a bunch of different juices as well as an espresso machine. The food was yummy and best of all it’s free!
The bar opened up about 10 minutes later and I was able to order a mimosa, which was delicious. Since it was a full bar, there were several other drink options as well, but I wasn’t feeling too adventurous.
After we finished eating, we decided to take check and see if there were any massage appointments available at the spa. It took a little bit of convincing, but my wife agreed to go with me. I mean who doesn’t want a free chair massage. You can also get manicures, pedicures, and other spa treatments. To schedule an appointment, you just go up to the member services desk. They’ll have you sign some paperwork and then schedule you for a specific time.
We were able to book massages for the same time slot since there were three massage therapists working. We headed over to the spa about 5 mins before our scheduled time. The massage therapists were friendly and attentive. We each took our seats in the chair for a 20 minute massage. I personally did not enjoy my massage. This was mostly due to the fact that my therapist didn’t really allow his motions to flow together. He was also a little bit too rough, which made it hard to relax. My wife on the other hand had an amazing experience.
After our massages, we collected our bags and headed out. Our flight was taking off from the E terminal so we had to catch a tram back to our gate. Luckily all of the terminals are connected airside so we didn’t have to go back through security. The lounge felt enormous and had plenty of seating for everyone who was in there that morning. The free spa services and full bar are a nice touch as well. Overall, this is, in my opinion, one of the best and nicest Centurion Lounges out there.
